Child labor is prohibited in Brazil and in most parts of the world (International Conventions No. 138 and 182 of the ILO – International Labour Organization). On the other hand, Convention 138 itself, in Article 8, allows for individual permits in artistic representations granted by the competent authority of each country. In Brazil, Article 149 of the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA) outlines the basic parameters of this Authorization, which is processed in the Juvenile Court.
